Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CouplesQuiz (“the app,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the app.

CouplesQuiz is operated by Marek Jeziorek, an individual, Komorowska 4/41, 05-800 Pruszków, Poland (“we,” “us,” “the developer”).

The short version

• Your relationship content — the names, dates, questions, answers, and quiz results you enter — is stored only on your device. We never see it, and it’s never sent to our servers, because we don’t have servers that store it.
• We use two third-party services: PostHog (product analytics) and RevenueCat (subscription management). Neither receives your relationship content.
• We don’t collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifiers, and we don’t show ads.

Information stored only on your device

When you use CouplesQuiz, the app stores the following directly on your device, using Apple’s SwiftData framework:

• Both partners’ names, your anniversary date, and language preference
• Daily Question entries: the question shown and each partner’s answer
• Quiz Night sessions: guesses, real answers, and scores
• Your progress through Tips and Lessons content

None of this is transmitted to us, to any server we operate, or synced to iCloud. If you delete the app, this data is permanently deleted with it. We have no way to access, recover, or view it — it never leaves your device.

Information we receive through analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog, a product analytics service hosted in the EU (eu.posthog.com), to understand how people use CouplesQuiz so we can improve it. This includes:

• Screen views (which parts of the app you open)
• Feature-usage events: onboarding progress, whether a paywall was shown or dismissed, purchase or restore attempts and outcomes, whether a Daily Question was answered, quiz sessions started or completed, tips saved, lessons opened or completed

These events do not include the actual content of your answers, questions, or quiz results — only that an action happened. PostHog processes this data on our behalf as a data processor; see PostHog’s own privacy policy for how they handle infrastructure-level data (e.g. device type, OS version, approximate region derived from IP address).

Information handled by RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions)

If you subscribe to CouplesQuiz Premium, your purchase is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your payment card details. RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, receives purchase and entitlement data from Apple (e.g. which product you bought, subscription status, renewal date) so the app can unlock the correct features. RevenueCat does not receive your relationship content.

What we don’t do

• We don’t request advertising identifiers (IDFA) or use any advertising SDK — there are no ads in CouplesQuiz.
• We don’t access your contacts, photos, location, or microphone.
• We don’t send push notifications from a server — reminders (e.g. the daily question nudge) are scheduled locally on your device by iOS itself and never involve us or Apple’s push servers.

Sharing your results

If you use the app’s “Share” feature (e.g. to share a quiz result), CouplesQuiz uses Apple’s standard share sheet. The image or text is generated on your device and only sent wherever you personally choose to send it (Messages, Instagram, etc.) — it never passes through our servers.

Your rights

Because your relationship content never leaves your device, deleting the app deletes that data completely and immediately — there is nothing further for us to delete on your behalf.

For analytics data processed by PostHog, if you are in the EU/EEA, UK, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection law, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any analytics data associated with your device. Since we don’t collect an identifiable account (no login, no email required to use the app), we generally cannot look up analytics data tied to a specific person — contact us at hello@xdivision.dev if you have a specific request and we’ll do what’s technically possible.

Children

CouplesQuiz is designed for adult couples and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data we collect, we’ll update this page and the date above.
